In a recent blog entry for the Poetry Foundation’s website, D.A. Powell has the following to say about Bat City: “Edited by graduate students from the UT Austin program, the magazine features beautiful artwork and high-quality fiction. But the reason I bought it, and the reason I recommend it, is the outstanding quality of the poetry.” Aw shucks. We hope our next issue will continue to please, and thanks to exciting new work from Dara Weir, Mathias Svalina, Caroline Bird, Brandon Shimoda, and many others, we think it will.
