What is the Genes and New Experiences Study (GENES)?
A few years ago you participated in “The UT Experience!” (UTE) study. Over the years, we learned a lot about your college experiences and beyond (click here for findings from the UTE). In our new study, we want to see how you’re doing now and examine associations between target genes and changes in drinking and other behaviors. Specifically, we are interested in looking at 5 candidate genes: GABRA2, SLC6A4, DRD4, OPRMI1, and CHRM2.
If you’d like to participate in our new (paid!) study, you can register below and we’ll mail you a little DNA collection kit (Don’t worry – there’s no blood involved. We just want a little bit of your spit!). Afterwards we’ll invite you to complete a brief (15-30 minute) online survey.
