Allen, and Dillon Anderson Centennial Professor in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/depts\/german\/main.html\">Department of Germanic Studies<\/a> and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/cola\/depts\/linguistics\/\">Department of Linguistics<\/a> at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/\">University of Texas at Austin<\/a>. In 2001, I founded the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tgdp.org\">T<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tgdp.org\">exas German Dialect Project<\/a> to document and archive the remnants of Texas German for future generations. In 2004, I founded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laits.utexas.edu\/gframenet\/\">German FrameNet<\/a> project, which, since 2011 has focused primarily on developing a <a href=\"https:\/\/frames.coerll.utexas.edu\/welcome\">German frame-based Online Lexicon<\/a> (G-FOL), an online learners&#8217; dictionary. From 2012 to 2020 I served as the Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/liberalarts.utexas.edu\/lrc\/\">Linguistics Research Center<\/a> and from 2018 &#8211; 2023 I served as the Chair of the <a href=\"https:\/\/liberalarts.utexas.edu\/germanic\/\">Department of Germanic Studies<\/a> at UT. Before coming to Austin, I was a postdoctoral researcher with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icsi.berkeley.edu\/~framenet\">FrameNet<\/a> project at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icsi.berkeley.edu\/\">International Computer Science Institute<\/a> and a research fellow in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linguistics.berkeley.edu\/\">Department of Linguistics<\/a> at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkeley.edu\/\">University of California at Berkeley<\/a>, funded by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.daad.de\/en\/index.html\">Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst<\/a> (\u2018German Academic Exchange Service\u2019). Prior to that, I studied law and linguistics at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-goettingen.de\/\">Georg-August- Universit\u00e4t G\u00f6ttingen<\/a>, Germany.
