{"id":1456,"date":"2019-01-22T18:52:20","date_gmt":"2019-01-22T18:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.la.utexas.edu\/kb\/?p=1456"},"modified":"2020-06-18T16:51:03","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T16:51:03","slug":"giving-administrative-access-to-stas-for-cola-web-editor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sites.la.utexas.edu\/kb\/2019\/01\/22\/giving-administrative-access-to-stas-for-cola-web-editor\/","title":{"rendered":"Making an STA an Admin"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The <strong>COLA Web Editor<\/strong> is our name for the <em>database<\/em> that allows those with Administrator roles with-in the database, to make certain kinds of information show-up on COLA office sites, including:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>News &amp; Events<\/strong> content and imagery<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photo IDs<\/strong> for: Faculty, Graduate Students &amp; Staff<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact info, Bio. &amp; Interests<\/strong> for: Faculty, Graduate Students (<em>&amp; to a lesser degree for Staff<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>To edit any site, an STA just needs to be given the admin role. Once they have that, they have access to all COLA office sites. You can find more information about adding affiliations and roles <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.la.utexas.edu\/kb\/2019\/02\/22\/adding-new-affiliations-and-roles-cola-web-editor\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>**<em>Do not<\/em>** <em>give staff members who are not affiliated with LAITS <\/em><br \/>\n<em>directly, the Administrator roll in the COLA Web Editor.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions on giving an STA the admin role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Log In to the COLA Web Editor.<\/p>\n<p>2. You will see a list of their affiliations and under that, a section that says &#8220;Add new affiliation&#8221;.
