The scanner used in the office is the EPSON PERFECTION V700 PHOTO.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step One: Setting up the Scanner<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For scanning one page:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lay the page in portrait orientation face-down on the scanning surface.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Push the page to the top right corner.<\/span><a 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Close the scanner once the page is in place.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For scanning a two-page spread:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lay the spread vertically on the scanning surface.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Push the corner of the page to the top right corner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Close the scanner once the spread is in place.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the book or magazine is too bulky for the scanner to close, the pages can also be scanned with the top of the scanner opened.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Step Two: Settings<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open up the <strong>EPSON Scan 2<\/strong> application on the computer connected to the scanner.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make sure you are in \u201cPhoto Mode\u201d for photos, \u201cDocument Mode\u201d for magazines and book pages<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Document Type: \u201cReflective\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Document Source: \u201cScanner Glass\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If scanning in color: \u201c48-bit Color to Highlight detail\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If scanning in grayscale: \u201c16-bit Grayscale\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Resolution: \u201c300 dpi<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Scanning Quality: High<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a Scan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click on \u201cPreview\u201d to see how all the scan shows up. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Then click Saving<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Save as <\/span><b>.tif<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to avoid compression. <\/span><b><i>NOT MULTI-TIFF<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work from .tif files and only save final versions as .jpeg for professor unless they request .tif format style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sometimes clients can pay for extra editing to refine\/recolor the image.
