NOTE: In a final position, /h/ is only an orthographic representative of a final [-e] and it is not stressed (hence the term silent /h/), unless it is preceded by a long vowel; e.g., ماه māh ‘moon; month’, کوه kuh ‘mountain’, سَفیه safih ‘stupid, ignorant’.  In the former case, the /h/ is not included in the Latin transcription; e.g., خانه xāne ‘house, home, chamber’.
