These two verbs are[tag resources imp035] \u0628\u0648\u062f\u0646 [\/tag]<em>budan<\/em> \u2018to be\u2019 and[tag resources imp036] \u062f\u0627\u0634\u062a\u0646 [\/tag]<em>d\u0101\u0161tan<\/em> \u2018to have\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The imperative of <em>budan<\/em> takes the different verbal stem \u0628\u0627\u0634, which in its infinitival form ([tag resources imp037]\u0628\u0627\u0634\u06cc\u062f\u0646 [\/tag]* * <em>b\u0101\u0161idan<\/em>) does not exist in New Persian any more. In the imperative, this verb does not take the [be-] prefix:<\/p>\n<h5>[tag resources imp038] !\u0628\u0627\u0634 [\/tag]<br \/>\n<em>b\u0101\u0161!<\/em><br \/>\n\u2018be!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>[tag preventive) takes a [<em>n\u00e1-<\/em>] prefix, which, like its affirmative counterpart, takes the primary stress, as in, <em>n\u00e1\u05c0ro<\/em> \u2018don\u2019t go!\u2019 etc.<\/p>\n<p>In formal spoken Persian, if the initial syllable of the present stem is an open syllable with [-e-] or [-o-] (that is Ce, Co), this vowel may optionally be dropped in both affirmative Normally verbs with \u06a9\u0631\u062f\u0646, \u0634\u062f\u0646, do not take the [b\u00e9-] prefix, however, it is optional.
