Scott Cairns part 2: Learning to Pray

In this podcast, I prevail upon Scott to read a couple of my favorite poems from his collections: “In YHWH’s Image” and “Regarding the Body.” Then he talks about them and pretty soon we’re deep into Orthodox spirituality and the presence of the “departed.” The second half of this discussion focuses on Scott’s experiences as a pilgrim among the monks on the Holy Mountain, Mt. Athos. Scott is a professor of creative writing at the University of Missouri.
