Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Ute Hüsken talks about her research in India on rituals that don’t go as planned.  What happens when a ritual specialist makes a mistake?  Does the ritual fail?  Do you start over? And what is a ritual?  What are they supposed to accomplish?  Ute Hüsken is trained as an anthropologist and has taught at the University of Göttingen and the University of Heidelberg.  She is now professor of South Asian Studies at the University of Oslo, Norway.
