I am happy to welcome Dr. Bin Zhang from the Dresden University of Technology (Germany) for his month-long research stay at the University of Texas. He will be conducting research on implementation of Construction Grammar in the foreign language classroom with a specific focus on pedagogical approaches to teaching German (Deutsch als Fremdsprache).

New co-authored article published! Frame-based semantic patterns in business discourse: A case study. In English for Specific Purposes 80, 126-139 (with Yubin Qian and and Qun Zheng).

New co-authored publication (with my colleague Marc Pierce) on Texas German is out: “Texas German”, in the Yearbook of German American Studies Supplemental Issue 6, see here.

Today, I gave a presentation at the Humboldt University in Berlin (Germany) on “German contact varieties as a test bed for Construction Grammar.”

My latest article was just published: “What happened to Frame Semantics?”, in the journal English Linguistics, 41, 1-55.
