Read the excerpt below and answer the following question.

يک روانپزشک در‌باره جلب شدن جوانان ايرانی به روز والنتاين به خبرگزاری جمهوری اسلامی گفت: جوانی دورانی مملو از احساسات و انرژی‌های گوناگون است. دکتر محسن اعتمادزاده افزود: نياز به شادی و تحرک و تحول از جمله مهم ترين خواست‌ها و نيازهای يک جوان است و می‌توان مهم‌ترين علت گرايش دختران و پسران ايرانی که البته بسيار زياد هم نيستند، به گرامی داشتن روز والنتاين را در همين نيازها دانست.
او گفت: ابراز محبت و مورد توجه قرار گرفتن يکی از نيازهای اساسی و ضروری برای يک جوان چه دختر و چه پسر است ولی فرهنگ و فضای اجتماعی جامعه کنونی ما به هيچ وجه پذيرای چنين سنت‌ها و پاسخگوی چنين نيازهايی نيست.
اين روانپزشک افزود: فضای فکری و فرهنگی جامعه ما و روابط دختر و پسر با يکديگر نيز در همين قالب می‌گنجد. او تصريح کرد:خانواده‌های امروز روابط آزاد دختر و پسر حتی با هدف آشنايی و شناخت از يکديگر برای برخورداری از يک زندگی مشترک سالم و همراه با شناخت را نمی‌پذيرند لذا نبايد توقع داشت چنين مناسبت‌هايی خيلی در جامعه گسترش پيدا کند.
وی با بيان اينکه سنتی مانند روز والنتاين در فرهنگ غربی ناشی از رفاه اقتصادی است گفت: بايد برای ابراز احساسات جوانان و تخليه انرژی فراوان آنها در اشکال صحيح و درست برنامه‌ريزی کرد، در غير اين صورت شاهد تبعات منفی آن در آينده خواهيم بود.
