Mindset Assignment

Required Readings

1. Read Chapter 3 “Mental Wanderings” in your textbook. Pay particular attention to the chart on page 52, and the detailed explanations of the mindsets on pages 56-77.

2. Read Chapter 4, “Wandering beyond Majors and Minors” paying particular attention to pp. 91-95 dealing with mapping your major.

Assignment 2

Create your own Major Map & Analysis

1. Following the directions on pages 91-95, create a map of your major.

2. Write a short summary of the most important aspects of your major or particular skills, knowledge, or experiences you acquired through your education that you would want to share with an employer.

If you find this exercise challenging, consider asking some of your fellow majors for their ideas and suggestions. If you haven’t selected a major yet, map and analyze the major you are considering.

The Major Map and analysis is worth up to 10 points.

Assignment 2

* You can save your document as a .doc (Word), .rtf (Rich Text File), or .txt (Plain Text).

* You are required to use this file naming convention: yourlastname1.doc replacing [yourlastname] with your last name and [1] with the correspondent assignment number.

* To attach two or more files click on the Browse for Local File and Attach File buttons  before you click on the Submit button.
