Possible Lives Assignment
Required Readings
1. Read Chapter 5, “Why Settle for One Career When You Can Have Ten?”. Note the chart on page 113 which illustrates some career opportunities selected by previous college students.
2. Read and complete the attached handout entitled “Employment Fields” to broaden your perspective of career fields to consider. You do not need to turn in this handout.
Assignment 3
Possible Lives Map & Analysis
1. Read the instructions for completing the Possible Lives Map on pages 117-123. Complete your Possible Lives Map and also include a short (1-2 paragraphs) analysis of the career themes you discovered (such as creativity, leadership, independence, etc.).
2. Indicate whether you plan to move forward with one, two or three of your Possible Lives.
This assignment is worth up to 10 points.
