About
Course Description:
Your college major has given you a body of knowledge and a perspective for viewing the world that you can rely on for the rest of your life. But depending on the major you’ve pursued, it’s not always easy to make the connection to the career(s) you’re considering. And maybe you aren’t even sure what career(s) you want to pursue. Not to worry. This one-credit course is designed to help you get the most from your major, integrate the formal and informal learning you’ve acquired, and discover ways to enhance your major with employment, internships, and other experiences. By the time you complete this course, you will feel much more confident about your major and your ability to transition into the workplace after graduation. Every lesson, exercise, and assignment is designed to improve your ability to ultimately find employment.
You will be learning the “Wise Wanderings™” career system: an intelligent approach to transitioning from college to career. You will look at where you’ve been and where you might go, develop your “possible lives,” and expand your network of possible wanderings: the intellectual and experiential space in which you operate. You will also learn valuable skills in mapping, visual thinking, scenario planning, branding, and storytelling as you develop your future plans.
