In Persian, prepositions precede the indirect object of the sentence, while the direct object is always followed by را ra:

من برای او یک کتاب خریدم
man barāy-e u yek ketāb xaridam
“I bought him/her a book.”
مداد روی تلویزیون است
madād ruy-e televizyon ast
“The pencil is on the television.”
دفترت زیر میز است
daftarat ruy-e miz ast
“Your notebook is under the table.”
از اینجا تا آنجا
az injā tā ānjā
“From here to over there.”
آن گل بالای در است
ān gol bālāy-e dar ast
“That flower is on top of the door.”
او بعد از تو آمد
u ba’d az to āmad
“He/she came after you did.”

همه غیر از جمشید رفتند

این کتاب راجع به ایران است
in ketāb rāje’ be irān ast
“This book is about Iran.”
این کتاب دربارهی ایران است
in ketāb dar bārey-e irān ast
“This book is about Iran.”
As we can see, some of these prepositions take the ezāfe construction, such as برای, روی, زیر, and بالای.
