Diglossia Rules

When a word with a final [-e] is followed by any of the personal possessive endings and also by ast ‘is,’ it is assimilated into the following /a/ vowel (which is the initial sound of the personal suffix); for example (note the displacement of the stress):

his/her maternal aunt xāle|-aš [tag resources diglossia05005]خاله/خاله اش[/tag] xāla|š [tag resources diglossia05006]خاله ش[/tag]
our group, team daste|-amān [tag resources diglossia05007] دسته/ دستا مان[/tag] dassa|mun [tag resources diglossia05008] دستا مون[/tag]
your package, bundle baste|-atān [tag resources diglossia05009]بسته/ بسته تان[/tag] bassa|tun [tag resources diglossia05010]بسه تون[/tag]
