(ai): The two elements namely, a and i and their combination form ai. In ai, a is a front vowel and i is a front closed vowel. This in its production resembles y as in the English word my. This sound occurs in a word initial, medial, and final positions. This vowel represented by the letter and used as it is in the word initial position and elsewhere the secondary symbol is used with other consonants. This may be considered as a long vowel.
