NOTES: Vegetables in general are called سبزیجات sabzījāt ‘vegetables and herbs.’ The grilled corn is called بلال balāl. بادمجان has a variation as بادنجان. Also, colloquially it is pronounced بادمجون / بادنجون. The word قارچ also means ‘fungus, mold, etc.’. ریحان is colloquially pronounced ریحون ترخان is colloquially pronounced ترخون کدو تنبل literally means ‘lazy squash’ — probably because it looks like a big belly.
