Diglossia Rules

In colloquial phonology, the final glottal (plosive or fricative) is normally dropped and compensated for by lengthening the preceding vowel (at least in conservative constructions):

ten dah ده da: دَ
village deh ده de: دِ
moon, month māh ماه mā: ما
mountain kuh کوه ku: کو
tallow, fat, lard pih پیه pi: پی
members a’zā’ اعضاء a:zā: اضا
mint na’nā’ نعناع na:nā: ننا
